Investing the big bucks into an interior designer was expansive AF
“I really feel like when people are in my home, it is not only warm and welcoming, it’s a whole experience”
It never ceases to amaze me what we (the human race) will prioritise over things. We say the coach is “too expensive” yet we will spend 1k+ on the newest iPhone, and we will try to do our interior design job ourselves because it’s an ‘easy job’ and surely if you just save pretty things on Pinterest, you can do it.
Well, let me tell you, I thought that because I have a creative eye and I love interiors, that I could do my own apartment. Holy fuck no I couldn’t. There were moments were I suggested things, and my designer just looked at me, like ‘how the fuck does that idea even run through your head.’
My designer, is one of the most talented people I know. And she’s also my Mum (and yes, I paid for her her services). I believe that not paying someone because they are your friend, is basically saying “I don’t value your time and I don’t value my investment in this.”
I wanted to pay my mum because it’s expansive to be spending a shit load of money on your dream home. It’ expansive to be hiring out things to someone that is better at the thing than you are. Why do something half ass to only have to end up hiring the person in the end to have the job done properly.
I’ll be honest, I really thought that doing your own interior design couldn’t be that hard, but I hired my mum because i didn’t have the time to do it myself. In the process, I realised that this is so much harder than it looks. Oh and I also DO NOT have the patience to be a designer. I can’t even last 10 minutes on the phone to do styling with her because I do not have an eye for detail and I’m not a perfectionist.
Bringing her in to do this job, has meant that my home is looking better than I ever could of imagined. She has been able to blend all my vibes together of cabin, modern, chic, luxury, cozy, masculine, sensual, and eclectic into one in a way that I would never have been able to do. I don’t know how she doesn’t get overwhelmed and have decision fatigue from doing this! I can’t even decide on a fucking soup bowl let alone everything else!
My bedroom is the perfect combination of cabin vibes, along with sensual and luxurious because I’m obsessed with the mountain, sking and anything that is cozy.
My office is a total masculine turn-me-on with my amazing liquor book shelf, leather arm chair and huge glass desk that’s actually a dining table… that’s how extra I am).
My open living room, kitchen and dining space is a combination of sensual, modern and luxe vibes. There is nothing cold about this home, and everything is a fucking vibe as I would say.
No detail has gone unnoticed and I really feel like when people are in my home, it is not only warm and welcoming, it’s a whole experience.
Manifesting this apartment was easy, and also a hell of a process so I wasn’t going to skimp out when it came to the interiors. If i found something that turned me on, I didn’t even care how much it cost, because you cannot put a price tag on your environment.
I’m a double Sagittarius and it’s literally written in my birth chart that I need big windows, open spaces and an enviornment that turns me on. I honestly could wear the same clothes everyday, but I could not live in an environment (or even stay in a hotel) that doesn’t make me feel expansive, safe, supported and inspired.
When people put a pricetag on themselves, they are saying that they are only worth $x. When my designer asked me my budget, I told her I have no budget because I cannot put a limit on having the home of my dreams. Of course, I’ve been tracking how much I’ve been spending, and let me tell you… the more I spend, the wetter this apartment gets me. It’s fucking sexy to see that I’ve spent so much on myself. Because why wouldn’t I?
The process has been stressful, time-consuming and expansive as fuck. It has been one of the best investments that I’ve ever given myself, as it’s so easy to just say that “it’s not worth it” because we are all so damn good at putting others ahead of ourselves.
“Whether you’re investing in your house, your mental health, your physical health or some self-care… do it, and feel how your vibe changed and therefore what you attract in”.
Let’s be real, it’s a lot easier to put your needs behind someone elses. And having my fluff child Jelly has made me realise that when it comes to him I would spend millions to ensure that he is okay, and that’s how I have to continue to treat myself.
Because investing in yourself, is a sure as hell way to continue to grow, expand and become a happier and more secure version of yourself.
If you are constantly putting your dreams on the back burner, how are you ever going to manifest them? How are you ever going to reach your goals? How are you ever going to be truly happy?
Making big investments isn’t easy and it’s not always comfortable. Moving to NYC has been about a $120,000 dollar expense so far. Between living in hotels, paying 2 brokers one months rent, putting down a security deposit and then paying rent plus my designer…. IT’S BEEN JUICY!! It’s expanded me and I’ve never looked less at my bank account or Stripe account because I am SO FUCKING HAPPY.
And money is really just about happiness. If you’re not happy, you won’t easily attract in money and if you’re in scarcity you won’t be investing in yourself to make yourself happy. It’s a vicious cycle and the only person that has the power to snap you out of it, is yourself.
Whether you’re investing in your house, your mental health, your physical health, or some self-care… DO IT and feel how your vibe changed and therefore what you attract in.
